The Bellevue Art Lab is a place for growing artists of many ages and skill levels. The concept behind the “Lab” is having an open studio setting allowing exploration rather than strict instruction.  We see the Arts as an important way to engage the youth as well as fostering bonds between artists and community members.

The Bellevue Art Lab has multiple spaces to serve emerging and professional artists. The community classroom is where the creative magic happens for the young artists.

This room is a free open studio for the youth (ages 13-19) after school Monday through Friday 3 to 6pm. The Art Lab is stocked with drawing, painting and sculpting supplies as well as digital art, and ability to do craft working such as jewelry and metalworks.

The Art Lab is available for private paint parties with the supplies and instructions included in rental costs.

The Bellevue Art Lab also takes part in the Wilmington Art Loop on the First Friday of each month. The special part of working in the community space is being surrounded by the creative energy flow of fellow artists and our community youth.

Teaching the youth, hosting professional workshops and artist talks, designing community installations, and displaying in monthly exhibitions are all fantastic  ways to take part of the growing Art Lab at Bellevue Community Center.
