I. RECURRING VOLUNTEERS
A. Complete and submit an application. The Volunteer Coordinator will respond to your online application via email. If you want some additional information, feel free to contact the Volunteer Coordinator by sending an email to jwisniewski@bellevuecc.org and you may also reach our Volunteer Coordinator by phone at (302) 762‐1391.
B. The Volunteer Coordinator will give you available dates to tour the Community Center at 510 Duncan Road, where you will hear about volunteer opportunities, and decide what you’d like to do. (If you prefer, you can print out an application and bring it to your scheduled tour, or get one when you arrive for your tour.)
C. Set up a date to begin. Then pitch in!
II. ONE TIME OR SHORT‐TERM VOLUNTEERS
A. Please complete and submit an application online. If you want some additional information, feel free to contact the Volunteer Coordinator by sending an email to jwisniewski@bellevuecc.org and we will respond to you by email. You may also call the Volunteer Department at (302) 762‐1391.
B. Set up a date to work. There is no need for an orientation tour.
III. VOLUNTEER GROUPS
A. If you are part of a group that wishes to volunteer, please complete an online application, or print an application and fax it to (302) 762‐1652. Please be sure to identify a contact person for your group, and list his/her contact information. The Volunteer Coordinator will respond to your application and work with you to identify upcoming projects that are right for your group. BCC always needs volunteers for:
Gardening, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping and construction skills are always in demand, as are professional legal, accounting and IT skills. To volunteer your special skill set, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (302) 762‐1391 or jwisniewski@bellevuecc.org.
Bellefonte Farmers Market Volunteers
Description: The Bellefonte Farmers Market needs volunteers to setup and take down the market, as well as sell produce. Volunteers must to be able to lift tables and chairs, and have a pleasant disposition.
Volunteers are needed on Saturdays, from 8am to 2pm through September 5th.
Number of volunteers needed during summer months: 2 per week
BCC’s Community Garden Volunteers
Description: BCC’s community garden needs volunteers to do basic gardening activities: weeding, watering, planting and harvesting. Knowledge of gardening is helpful but not necessary. Basic gardening skills will be taught for those interesting in learning.
The Bellevue Community Garden is located behind the Bellevue Community Center, 510 Duncan Road, Wilmington, DE 19809.
Volunteer are needed Monday – Friday, 9am – 8pm, and on Saturdays 9am – 1pm.
Number of volunteers needed: As many as possible.
BCC Front Office / General Administrative Volunteer
Description: BCC Front Office Volunteer needs to answer phones, conduct light filing and data entry. Volunteers must be able to work easily with members of the community, both in person and on the phone. Basic computer skills are a plus.
Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, from 10am – 4pm; and Wednesdays, 11am – 2pm.
Volunteers needed: 1 – 2
BCC’s Fresh Food Giveaway Volunteers
Description: BCC’s Fresh Food Giveaway takes place on the second Thursday of each month. BCC Fresh Food Giveaway Volunteers need to gather, organize, package and distribute food. Volunteers must to be able to work easily with members of the community.
Volunteer are needed on the second Thursday of each month, 8am – 1pm.
Number of volunteers needed: 5
Volunteer / mentor to work with school age children
Description: Volunteers need to meet with school age students on a regular basis and provide basic advice on school and life skills.
Volunteer are needed through the school year, Monday – Friday.
One hour weekly commitment
Volunteers needed: 6
